Hyderabad Central mall directed to pay Rs.15K for charging Rs.10 on paper bag with logo

The complainant, V. Bejjam of Kavadiguda, had purchased a shirt for Rs. 1,400 from a shop in the mall, which was given to him in a paper bag with the mall’s logo.

Hyderabad: The Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission here has directed the Hyderabad Central mall at Punjagutta to pay Rs.15,000 to a customer for charging Rs.10 on a paper bag with its logo.

The complainant, V. Bejjam of Kavadiguda, had purchased a shirt for Rs. 1,400 from a shop in the mall, which was given to him in a paper bag with the mall’s logo. He was charged Rs.10 for the bag.

On coming to know later that this was illegal, he approached the Commission, which has now asked the mall to Rs.15,000 as compensation to the complainant.
