Synopsis

At present, most states allow restaurants and bars to sell only Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) or imported alcohol and beer. There is no provision for them to apply for sale of country liquor such as mahua, feni, toddy and rice beer.

NEW DELHI: This comes in the spirit of aatmanirbharta: industry body National Restaurant Association of India has written to state governments to allow restaurants and bars across the country to serve premium country liquor.At present, most states allow restaurants and bars to sell only Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) or imported alcohol and beer.
