Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said that Rahul Gandhi is the only leader who can hold the post of Congress President. He said that he was the one who took a tough stand on important issues without coming under pressure from the government.
Baghel's statement comes at a time when there is a buzz in the Congress of Rahul becoming the party president again. The Delhi and Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committees have also passed a resolution to make Rahul the party president again.
Baghel said that Rahul has the trust of everyone in the party and only he can keep the party united. Rahul would be a better candidate for the party president, but he said who else but him? Apart from Rahul Gandhi, which leader has visited the whole country, do the workers across the country know anyone other than him?
He has been openly speaking on all important issues including demonetization, GSG, Kovid-19, Kisan agitation. On the selection of elections or without elections, he said that it will be decided by the All India Congress Committee and the Congress Executive Committee. He said that everything should be in accordance with the constitution of the party.
Center to withdraw cess on petrol, diesel
The CM also demanded the withdrawal of cess on petrol and diesel in the general budget. He says that this will increase inflation and its burden will fall on the common man.
