TIRUPATHUR: Late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s close aide V K Sasikala on Monday said she would be actively involved in politics from now.
Sasikala, who was en route to Chennai days after her release from the Bangalore Central Prison, addressed reporters at Nekkuthi tollgate in Tirupathur district sitting in a sport utility vehicle. She also addressed the party cadre.
Sasikala said people very well know the reason for closing the newly opened Jayalalithaa memorial on the Marina Beach in a hurried way.
Answering a question on the AIADMK leaders’ opposition to her use of party flag, Sasikala said, “This shows they are scared.”
Recalling the " Anbukku naan adimai, tamil panbukku nan adimai " song from an MGR movie, Sasikala said she was a slave to the affection of party cadre and people. Sasikala said she would talk about everything in detail later.
She also said that the party had risen like a phoenix from ashes whenever it was facing problems. “The party will arise like a phoenix this time too,” she said.
Sasikala said the enemy should not capture the government and she was wishing that everyone should work unitedly like the children of the same mother under the AIADMK banner.
She thanked the Karnataka government and doctors and nurses in a government hospital in Bengaluru for saving her when she was suffering from Covid-19.
