MUMBAI: Nibeditaa Paal is all set to make her debut in the fiction genre with the upcoming show, Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein, which features Harsh Rajput and Krishna Mukherjee in lead roles. Nibeditaa, who is popular among the youth after her stint on the reality show, Splitsvilla X2, is excited about dabbling in acting.
She shares, “I feel fortunate to have got an opportunity to work in an Ekta Kapoor show. I’m excited to be a part of it and couldn’t have asked for a better break on television.”
Another reason why the young actress is looking forward to her acting debut is that her character is similar to her in real life. Talking about it, she says, “My character, Roohi, is like me in terms of appearance and approach. She is also bubbly and loves to dress up (laughs!). She is young, modern, and positive, and likes to keep herself updated. She is also mischievous, but has a heart of gold, and is emotionally attached to her family. I share many of these traits and am also very family-oriented. She’s like a younger version of myself. When I heard about the character, I immediately realised that she has all the traits that I had when I was younger.”
Like any newcomer, Nibeditaa, too, was a bundle of nerves on day one of the shoot. However, her co-actors and the unit made her comfortable. She says, "I was quite nervous because I am a newbie and was working with an experienced team. However, everybody on the set has been amazing. I have bonded well with the entire team.”
