Police want to speak to a man following the suspected attempted abduction of a seven-year-old girl in October last year.

The little girl was grabbed from her mother by a man at about 5pm on 22 October 2020 in Mary Datchelor Close, Camberwell, south London.

He dropped the girl, leaving her uninjured, shortly after and left the scene on foot.

Two days later a 33-year-old man was charged with child abduction, but he was then eliminated from the police inquiry and released with no further action.

As it continues to investigate the possible abduction, the Met Police has released an image of a man it wants to speak to.

Anybody who thinks they know the man's identity should contact police immediately.

A Met Police statement said: "Your call could help identify the man responsible or may eliminate someone from police enquiries."

Anyone who can identify the man should call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 5832/22OCT or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
