The Indian Premier League’s (IPL 2020) bandwagon is all set to leave for UAE. In the first first batch of the teams, KingsXI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals will be leaving for UAE on Thursday. All 3 teams have booked Chartered flights for their squads and team management and are scheduled to land in Dubai & AbuDhabi by Thursday evening.
“We will be flying on Thursday for UAE. All is well with the squad. Once we land we will be quarantining ourselves for 6 days as per the protocols. Some of our international players will join us in UAE itself by next week”, said Satish Menon, CEO of KingsXI Punjab
‘‘We are following the robust testing protocols set by the BCCI. We have booked a charter for our team, management and support staff including net bowlers to take us to the UAE. Upon arrival in the UAE, we will undergo another test followed by our six-day quarantine. during which three tests will be conducted on Day 1, 3 and 6. If all three tests return negative, the members of the team will enter the bio secure environment and undergo tests every fifth day for the entire tournament,’’ remarked Jake Lush McCrum, COO of Rajasthan Royals.
Before the end of this week all 8 teams will reach UAE. As reported by InsideSport earlier, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore and four-time winners Mumbai Indians under Rohit Sharma will leave on Friday for the desert nation.
Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Capitals is scheduled to reach UAE on Saturday, while Sunrisers Hyderabad is leaving on Sunday.

IPL 2020 : BCCI’s delegation leaving on August 22nd for UAE
InsideSport had reported earlier that BCCI delegation is all set to leave for 22nd August to do recee of the facilities in the UAE. The board delegation will now be led by IPL GC Chairman Brijesh Patel instead of BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. Shah has decided to be by his father Amit Shah’ side recuperating currently in AIIMS from the bout of Covid-19.
“We will be leaving for Dubai on 22nd. We will recee all facilities and take stock of the preparations. Our team is already their at the venues getting ready to deliver top class IPL season”, said IPL GC Chairman Brijesh Patel.
IPL 2020 : BCCI’s top team going to UAE, agenda of the visit
The IPL in UAE starts from 19th September which is now less than 4 weeks away. The BCCI team traveling to UAE will have lot on their plate as far as finalizing the operational plans of IPL 2020 in concerned.
– Meeting with Emirates Cricket Board on operational plans
– Meeting with the various key ministry officials in UAE
– Meeting with the Indian embassy officers in UAE
– Setting up BCCI office for IPL 2020 operations in Dubai
– Finalization of Schedule for IPL 2020
– Visit to IPL 2020 venues in Dubai, AbuDhabi and Sharjah
– Taking the stock of Health Safety Protocols
– First hand experience of the BIO-BUBBLE for the IPL 2020
InsideSport has also learnt that 6-8 member BCCI staff team will operate from Dubai after setting up of the BCCI office locally. And in all likelihood BCCI’s Interim CEO Hemang Amin will lead the IPL 2020 team operations from Dubai.

The top franchise officials and the representative of the broadcaster Star India will also travel on the same dates as the BCCI team to recee the facilities, venues in UAE.
