Karnataka: New vaccination drive starts tomorrow

BENGALURU: Frontline workers in the state will get vaccine shots from February 8. About 2.7 lakh frontline workers from revenue, urban development, home, rural development and panchayat raj departments have registered on the CoWIN portal so far. The state government plans to complete their first-stage vaccination between February 8 and 10.
Jawaid Akhtar, additional chief secretary, health, has issued a circular for the same. “Sessions must be scheduled in such a way that all frontline workers get the vaccine in three days,” he said. The workers will get Covishield, said Dr Arundhati Chandrashekar, mission director (state), National Health Mission.
