The voluntary vehicle scrapping policy announced in the Union Budget for 2021-22 is touted as a major step to boost the Indian automobile sector, reeling under the adverse impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Terming the policy a boon, the road transport minister said it would lead to a 30 per cent boost to the Indian automobile industry turnover to Rs 10 lakh crore in the years to come.

Mr.Gadkari, the maximum number of old and polluting vehicles on Indian roads are all Government vehicles. Would you levy a hefty green tax on them??...If you seriously intend to revive the automobile industry, reduce the hefty taxes (more than 50% of the cost of the vehicle) levied on new vehicles. If you are actually serious about controlling pollution and protecting the environment, why don't you exempt all green vehicles from all taxes??...As expected, your scrapping policy is not going to do any good to the common man of India!!!

Well deserving step taken. Bz when the govt allows deprication and value of car become zero in 6 yr. Why not do scrapping
