Nitish exhorts ruling, Oppn parties to work in tandem for development of Bihar

Patna, Feb 7 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said it was the responsibility of both Opposition and the ruling parties to serve the people and exhorted the opposition to co-operate in the development of Bihar.

Addressing an official function on the occasion of centenary celebrations of Bihar Legislative Assembly building, Mr Kumar said that even after separate political inclinations, the ruling parties and opposition should work in tandem to serve the people and for the development of the state.

The Chief Minister said that all public representatives, whether they belong to the Opposition or the ruling party, were part of the government.

Mr Kumar assured the MLAs that the government would solve the issues raised by them on the Floor of the House.

He requested the Speaker of the state Legislative Assembly and Acting Chairperson of the state Legislative Council to take a decision on the suggestions made by the Legislators for convening extended sessions of the House, so that more and more issues related to the common people could be raised and solved.

The centenary celebrations would continue throughout the year and would be graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind, along with other dignitaries, added Mr Kumar.
