
A hot day is on the cards for Sunday, says the South African Weather Service.
Impact-based warnings:
- Yellow (Level 2) warning for disruptive rainfall leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads and already vulnerable low lying areas and bridges as well as poor driving conditions is expected over parts of the western Bushveld of Limpopo and central and eastern parts of North West.
Fire warnings:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the western and north-western parts of the Eastern Cape, the western and central parts of the Northern Cape as well as the West-Coast District and Central Karoo of the Western Cape.
The weather in your region:
Gauteng will be cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme west and north-west. The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.
Mpumalanga will see some morning fog along the escarpment and Highveld, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Limpopo will be cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the Lowveld and south-eastern parts.
North West will be party cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the east, where it will be cloudy.
Free State will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but cloudy in the east and south-east, where scattered showers are expected.
Northern Cape will have morning fog along the coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the north-east. It will become partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.
The Western Cape will be fine and warm to hot, but very hot over the interior. It will become cloudy to partly cloudy along the south and south-west coastal areas by evening. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and warm, but cloudy in the south with isolated light rain in places from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly.
The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the north, but rain in the south from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light south-westerly.
KZN will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the west. The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
