BBL Final: Sydney Sixers beat Perth Scorchers by 27 runs, clinch third title

Sydney, Feb 6 (UNI) The Sydney Sixers clinched back-to-back Big Bash League (BBL) titles after beating Perth Scorchers by 27 runs in the final at the Sydney Cricket Ground, here on Saturday.

This was Sydney Sixers third title in 10 editions of the Big Bash League .

The Scorchers and Sixers, both three-time champions, are the only two clubs to have won multiple titles in Australia's T20 competition.

Put into bat by the Scorchers, Sixers' opener James Vince smashed 95 off 60 balls including 10 boundaries and three sixes, leading his team to a score of 188/6 in 20 overs. The second-highest scorer for Sixers was Daniel Christian with 20 runs.

Andrew Tye was the most successful bowler for Scorchers with 2-29.

In reply, Sixers restricted the Scorchers to 161 for nine in 20 overs to win by 27 runs.

Cameron Bancroft (30) and Liam Livingstone (45) were the top-scorers for Perth.

Josh Philippe was named Man of the Tournament, while Vince was Man of the Match.

Brief scores: Sydney Sixers 188/6 in 20 overs (James Vince 95, Andrew Tye 2-29, Jhye Richardson 2-45) beat Perth Scorchers 161/9 in 20 overs (Liam Livingstone 45, Ben Dwarshuis 3-37) by 27 runs.
