BJP national president JP Nadda reached Kolkata on Friday night. He is about to launch a 'rath yatra' in the state with the aim of garnering public support for the party in view of the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. When Nadda arrived at Kolkata airport, he was received by the party's national vice-president Mukul Roy and the party's national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya.

The saffron party's source said that Nadda will begin a 'Parivartan Yatra' from Navdwip in Nadia district on Saturday, the birthplace of 15th-century saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. There is a possibility of starting.

Nadda will arrive in Malda in the morning and participate in two other events organized in the district with participation in roadshows. He told that in the afternoon he will start the Rath Yatra from Navadvip, which has been named 'Parivartan Yatra'.

Court did not grant postponement: Vijayvargiya

BJP MP Kailash Vijayvargiya said on Friday, the court has not stayed the postponement of the Rath Yatra, so the district administration cannot stop it. As the opposition, it is our fundamental right to go among the people. On 6 February, Nadda will inaugurate the yatra and on 11 February, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will join another visit from Cooch Behar.
