We didn’t’ coordinate with celebrities, expect justice from Indian media: Mo Dhaliwal | India News – Times of India

AMRITSAR: Skeptical of getting biased publicity on the problem of farmers agitation, Mo Dhaliwal, founder of the Vancouver-based Poetic Justice Foundation, is on the again foot after he denied having paid or persuaded any celeb to tweet in regards to the farmers protest.
Expressing resentment over the media protection, Mo Dhaliwal, in a dialog with TOI on Saturday mentioned, “Is there any hope of getting unbiased, undistorted coverage in India? Pointing towards the news reports regarding his organization, he alleged that the media channels had been chasing wild fantasies of their own making.
Later in a joint release issued by Mo Dhaliwal and Anita Lal, they said that “Poetic Justice Foundation didn’t coordinate Rihanna, Greta Thunberg or any quantity of particular celebrities to tweet in regards to the farmers protest. We didn’t pay anybody to tweet — and positively didn’t pay anybody $2.5 million to take action.”
He further said “It is our hope that Indian media and authorities will make investments their time and important sources to the actual points of the second: stopping the violence being dedicated towards the farmers and their supporters who’re agitating for his or her rights.”
Journalists perpetuate harm when the story is invented, he said.
He scoffed when asked whether he felt uncomfortable to talk about his Punjab connection and from where his parents originate from India.
“Uncomfortable! Have you seen the protection” was all he said.
He said that his organization speaks against the injustice meted out anywhere in the world.
“There is injustice in our dwelling in Canada. We converse towards these. There are injustice in different elements of the world, we may even converse towards these. We had been drawn to the farmers protest because of our connection and love for our individuals. This made us particularly conscious of the numerous human rights violations occurring in India”, he said.
When asked would he answer the allegations leveled against him by Delhi police, he replied “No foundation, undeserving of a reply, if they’ve information, they need to pursue the case.”
