Kolkata, Feb 6 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J P Nadda will launch the party's state-wide rath yatra in West Bengal on Saturday.
Mr Nadda arrived in Kolkata last night. Party's national vice-president Mukul Roy and national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya received Mr Nadda at the airport.
The BJP president will be visiting the Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture before joining over thousand farmers for lunch in Sahapur village of Malda district.
Mr Nadda is scheduled to kick off the 'Parivartan Yatra' today from Nabadwip in Nadia district, the birthplace of 15th century saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the party sources said.
The yatra is being launched to mobilise public support ahead of the state Assembly elections due in April-May.
BJP president will also pay tributes to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a revered saint from the Bhakti movement
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to inaugurate two of the five proposed yatras later this month.
