President Ram Nath Kovind said on Friday that the Aero India-2021 air show is a testimony to India's continued strength in the defense and aerospace sector globally. He said this during the conclusion of the three-day Aero India show. He also called Aero India an unprecedented success.
He said that this event will play an important role in strengthening India's self-reliance in the defense sector as well as establishing the country as a manufacturing country for the world. The event has shown that global confidence in the country's capabilities is gradually increasing.
He said that he is happy with the successful holding of Aero India despite the challenges of the Corona epidemic. Despite following the safety rules from Kovid-19, there was no lack of enthusiasm.
He also praised the contribution and bravery of the Air Force pilots for keeping the country's sky safe and strengthening security. He said that Aero India has achieved unprecedented success. President Kovind is the supreme commander of the three armed forces and is the first President who attended Aero India.
Millions of people attended the show
Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that more than 16000 people directly participated in the three-day Aero India and more than 4.50 lakh people joined it through a virtual medium. He said 540 companies, including 84 foreign companies from 55 countries, joined it.
