KTCL Vasco depot bags award

Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) Vasco depot has bagged prestigious ‘Saksham-2021’, the best depot in Goa award from Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA).

Speaking to this daily, KTCL chairman Carlos Almeida disclosed that the PCRA bestowed ‘Saksham’ award in lieu of kilometre per litre (KMPL) improvement while utilising the fuel by the state-run buses.

“The KTCL Vasco depot has been bestowed ‘Saksham’ award and certificate of achievement in lieu of improvement for the year October 2019 to September 2020 in KMPL competition 2020,” said Almeida.

He informed that the KTCL Vasco depot has performed well in the last couple of years and has achieved the success in consuming the fuel without any loss.

“The KTCL is providing services to the people and in the current situation of pandemic, the employees of the corporation have given their best in delivering excellent performance,”
Almeida said.

The KTCL Vasco depot in-charge Andrew Pereira, when contacted, said that public service is their motto.

“The KTCL, while providing services to the people, lays stress on safety aspect also. We have also achieved success in revenue earnings due to the good performance of the staff. The good relationship between the management and the staff of the KTCL has worked in achieving the targets,” said Pereira.

The Saksham award was bestowed on the KTCL Vasco depot considering the performance of the vehicles and also the consumption of fuel
by the buses.

“The KTCL Vasco depot has a total of 283 staff which includes drivers, conductors, technical persons and even the administrative staff. As compared to the other depots, the performance of the Vasco depot is better and has been improving day by day due to the cooperation and coordination from KTCL chairman Almeida. He is an inspiring personality and has always given his best to improve the services of the KTCL-run buses,” said Pereira.
