The bench said, "Without such safeguards, no establishment should be approved and the establishments which are already established should not be renewed." The bench said, "The State Pollution Control Board has the responsibility to look into the violation of the rules, but the Central Pollution Control Board should also monitor it and compensation should be collected from those who do so."
The NGT passed the order on a petition filed by the West End Green Farms Society, alleging traffic jams and environmental pollution caused by banquet halls and marriage farms in Mahipalpur and Rajokri near Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
