NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: More than 1,500 healthcare workers (HCWs) in Noida’s private facilities are unable to get their names registered on the state portal that is required for vaccination. In Ghaziabad, too, over 1,000 HCWs cannot find their names in the list of registered recipients on Co-WIN.
In GB Nagar, as many as 24,543 HCWs were listed for the first phase of vaccinations, while 21,000 were listed in Ghaziabad. Yet, officials from private hospitals and clinics could be seen making rounds of the Ghaziabad health department to get names of their staff registered. Their efforts, however, have not fetched any results so far.
Officials said the names can be added only after the state government removes a freeze on adding new recipients.
On Friday, a team of doctors led by Indian Medical Association president Dr Ashish Agarwal met district magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey and sought his intervention in the matter. Nearly 90 doctors associated with the IMA are missing from the list.
“The DM sought a detailed list from the IMA and other hospitals and has assured cooperation,” Dr Agarwal added.
Health officials said registrations of new recipients are not allowed at present, but efforts could be made to include them in the mop-up round slated to be held on February 15. In several cases, the hospital authorities did not provide the list of their employees on time leading to their absence from the list.
In GB Nagar, nearly half of the staff in Metro Hospitals and Heart Institute are not listed on the beneficiary list.
“The leftover HCWs list will be sent to the state government, which will recommend the upload on the Co-WIN portal. Once the names get registered on the portal, a subsequent date may be issued by the central government for their inoculations,” said Dr Tyagi.
