THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader and MP K Sudhakaran continued his tirade against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday too. “Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan doesn’t deserve any respect. I had criticised his luxurious life and his disregard for the worker identity which he had inherited,” Sudhakaran said.
He said he had never made any castiest remark against Vijayan. What he had meant was only the work which his father was doing. “How can this be an insult to anyone? The work which we have inherited from our forefathers is a pride for everyone. I don’t know how it can become an insult for Pinarayi Vijayan alone,” he added.
He also said that the CPM leaders have no moral authority to claim that he had insulted the chief minister. “No one in the state have insulted others like the way Pinarayi Vijayan has done. He has never apologised for his remarks made against the bishop, RSP leader and MP N K Premachandran and father of KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran,” said Sudhakaran.
“EMS had made such remark against K R Gowri and E K Nayanar against Congress leader M A Kuttappan. The Congress leaders Shanimol Osman, Lathika Subhash and Remya Haridas had all faced such remarks from the CPM leaders. Had any CPM leader apologised for insulting these Congress leaders?” he asked.
Sudhakaran said he had opposed Vijayan only politically. “I have no personal grudge against Vijayan. I know him from the college days in Kannur. I have in fact corrected the people when they had raised several allegations against him because I know him personally and I don’t believe in those allegations against him,” said Sudhakaran.
Meanwhile, MLA Shanimol Osman, who had sought an apology from Sudhkaran for making such a remark, however, tendered a public apology for mistaking Sudhakaran’s statement.
“I had responded hurriedly without even taking courtesy of speaking to him before making a remark,” Shanimol said.
