Women's Commission challenges Bombay High Court's decision on sexual exploitation

The National Commission for Women has challenged the Bombay High Court's decision on sexual abuse in the Supreme Court, stating that touching a minor's limb over the top of clothes is not sexual assault.

It is noteworthy that on January 27, a bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde stayed the High Court verdict. In a petition, the National Commission for Women has said that if there is such an interpretation of physical touch, then the basic rights of women who are sexually abused will be adversely affected.
