HP court awards LI to man in POCSO Act

Hamirpur, HP, Feb 5 (UNI) A Special Court on Friday sentenced a resident of Bijheri Dasuya village in the district under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code for committing an offence on August 28, 2019
The accused, identified as Shashi Kumar, was awarded life imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000.
Similarly, a local Judicial Magistrate sentenced one Anvar Sheikh of Mohali Punjab to undergo 30 months sentence and a fine of Rs 10,000 in a cheating case committed on April 22, 2019.
The Judge also issued an order that in case of non-payment of fine, the accused will have to undergo one month more of simple imprisonment.

COVID: J&K reports 66 new +ve cases, one death
