New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) The Congress on Friday demanded a Supreme Court-monitored time-bound inquiry into the Republic Day violence.
Speaking during the discussion on 'Motion of Thanks' to the Presidential Address, Congress MP Pratap Singh Bajwa condemned the violence at the Red Fort on the Republic Day saying the happenings were unfortunate. It cannot be supported in any case.
He alleged that the routes designated for the farmers' tractor rally were changed at the beginning only.
A detailed investigation into the violence should be ordered under the supervision of the Apex Court. There should be a time limit of two months for this. The guilty should be brought to book at any cost, he demanded. The three contentious farm laws have been enacted in a haste and the Parliamentary procedures were ignored while passing them, he alleged.
These laws, Mr Bajwa claimed, have been introduced in the interest of the corporate houses and should be revoked immediately. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should hold a discussion with the farmer leaders and assure them of revocation of the laws.
