PM, FM to visit Assam to launch development projects

Guwahati, Feb 5 (UNI) As BJP steps up its election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will arrive in Assam in back to back days to kick off the government sponsored schemes.
On February 6, Finance Minister Sitharaman will kick off the transfer of money to bank accounts of eight lakh labourers in Assam.
Ms Sitharaman will distribute Rs 3000 each to 8 lakh labourers with an expense of Rs 280 crores at an event to be held at Khanapara Veterinary field.
The union finance minister also proposed an outlay of over Rs 34,000 crore for 1300 km of national highways in the state over the next three years during her budget speech on February 1.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi will arrive on February 7, his second visit in a fortnight, this time at Dhekijuli in Central Assam to attend another government programme, where he will virtually inaugurate the construction of two medical colleges.
Mr Modi will also launch a road project which envisages to transform more than 5,000 km of roads in Assam.
Mr Modi will also address a public rally during his visit.
