Speed up projects, mayor says at MCG review meet

Gurgaon: Out of 159 proposals approved last year, the MCG’s engineering wing has completed work on only 15. Work on 18 projects is still in progress.
During a review meeting of the corporation on Thursday, chief engineer Thakur Lal Sharma said work on the remaining proposals had been delayed. Mayor Madhu Azad directed officials of the engineering wing to expedite it.
It was also decided that every zone in the city will have its own horticulture waste composting plant, for which officials have been asked to identify sites. “It is a major concern for the residents to efficiently dispose of the horticulture waste produced at parks and homes,” said Kuldeep Yadav, councillor of ward number 29.
Meanwhile, every ward will have a jetting machine to resolve the issue of sewage. “Councillors will submit their requirement — whether they want these equipment on a rental basis or want to purchase it for their ward,” said RS Rathee, councillor of ward number 34.
It was decided that every ward will have a citizen facilitation centre. Officials were also directed to get no-objection certificates to construct boundary walls at HSVP plots. Haryana home and local bodies minister Anil Vij, who was in Gurgaon on Thursday, also attended the meeting.
