Ace modern-day debutante style with an emphasis on delicate embellishments, corsets, longline gloves and feminine headpieces
While cottagecore romanticised the prairie lifestyle with back-to-farm activities (hello, sourdough bread and DIY cheese) and puffy cotton dresses, the Bridgerton influence is all about embracing the finer things in life. The hangover from Netflix's hit costume drama has inspired regal debutante style with an emphasis on delicate embellishments, corsets, longline gloves and pearl-encrusted hair accessories. So much so that according to Lyst, searches for period-inspired pieces like corsets, headpieces, elbow-length gloves and pearl and feather headbands have surged in the weeks following Bridgerton’s release. In particular, Simone Rocha headbands, corsets by Rasario and Dion Lee and empire waistline dresses have sparked the most interest.

While we don't see any ballgown and feathered crown-worthy outings in the near future, there's always room for adding ladylike elements in your modern wardrobe. Got pastel pink, lilac and sorbet blue on your mind? Choose from Ellery's candy pink dress with an elastic curve neckline and puffy sleeves, Roger Vivier's mint blue buckle satin flats or save Rasario's duchess silk-satin sheath gown for a special evening. Meanwhile Zara's faux pearl velvet pouch, a white corset top from Asos and detailed jacquard blouse and skirts from TheRealB are the perfect modern interpretations of Regency-era fashion. Take a look at our edit to get your nostalgia fashion fix.
