Woman accuses builder of raping, threatening her

Surat: Police booked two men in separate cases of rape in Amroli and Puna police station on Wednesday. In both the cases the accused took advantage of unusual circumstances faced by the survivor to exploit her.
A 35-year-old woman from Amroli alleged in her complaint that a builder Dalsukh Sojitra raped her at her residence in October 2020 by threatening to send her husband to jail again. Her husband was arrested in the past for allegedly cheating Sojitra. The woman’s husband was working in Sojitra’s company.
The woman alleged that Sojitra blackmailed and threatened her so she approached police with the support of her husband.
In another complaint registered in Puna police station, police booked a 20-year-old man Dikshit Makwana, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl multiple times. He was in a live-in relationship with her. The woman alleged that the Makwana recorded her intimate video and raped her by threatening to make the video viral on the internet.
Police investigation revealed that the couple had got engaged consent of their families but later called off the engagement following some dispute.
