Yogi orders reopening of educational institutions in UP

Lucknow, Feb 5(UNI) The schools of Uttar Pradesh will again be abuzz with the activities after a gap of 11 months.
Yogi Adityanath on Friday issued directives to reopen the educational institutions of the state from February 10, after a gap of 11 months. Mr Adityanath given instructions to open all schools, colleges and universities of primary, secondary and higher education.
However primary schools from standard one to five will open from March 1.
Following the instruction of the CM, the Education Department has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs). To ensure the safety of students, classes will be sanitized before the schools open and regular sanitation will take place after every shift. Arrangements for thermal scanning, masks, social distancing and first aid have been ensured before admission to the school.
On the directions of the CM, all the schools have incorporated effective changes in accordance with the guidelines for corona prevention. Over 1 crore 83 lakh children studying in more than 1.5 lakh primary and upper primary schools under the Basic Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh will resume learning in an absolute new environment.
Following the instructions of CM Yogi, more than 80 percent of primary and upper primary schools which come under the Basic Shiksha Parishad have been fully transformed. According to the BSA Lucknow, Dinesh Kumar, the schools are now equipped with improved washrooms with multiple handwash dispensers to ensure overall hygiene. The schools have also been made more appealing with vibrant wall paintings and in addition to this, all the required teaching material has been made available. Facilities like smart classes are also being provided to give a better learning experience to the students. These classes will be operated in about 100 schools out of 1642 schools in Lucknow.
The Basic Shiksha Parishad of the state will also provide ‘Sahaj Books’ to the students of classes one to three. ‘Sahaj’ books containing stories along with pictures will provide a different learning experience and will also help the students to develop a habit of regular reading. “Sahaj Books have reached the schools and will be provided to all the students of classes one to three”, added BSA Dinesh Kumar.
