  • Realme has not said anything official on the launch of the Watch 2, Watch 2 Pro.

Realme is rumoured to be working on two new smartwatches called the Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro. These two models are likely in continuation to the first-generation Watch line and not related to the Watch S series. The Realme Watch 2 appeared in an FCC document recently, wherein some of the specifications were unearthed. Now, the bigger model Watch 2 Pro has received the FCC certification and a few of its specifications have cropped up, as well.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro has the model number RMA2006 on the US FCC website, according to MySmartPrice. The label sketch of the product shows there is going to be a square dial on the smartwatch, much like how it was on the first-generation Realme Watch. The smartwatch may come with a 390mAh battery inside of the model number XE205 and has support for 2.5W charging. This information is available through the label spotted in FCC documents. The name Realme Watch 2 Pro is visible across the entire documentation on the US FCC listing. Apart from this chunk of information, there is nothing else clear about the Watch 2 Pro.

A previously spotted listing on the US FCC website shed some light on the Realme Watch 2. According to the documents that were out, this model will come with a 1.4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. The Realme Watch 2 could have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. There is also going to be a heart rate monitor and a blood oxygen monitor. This means the smartwatch will support real-time heart rate monitoring and allow users to measure blood oxygen levels. The smartwatch is also said to have native sleep tracking, a meditation mode, and several workout modes.

Now, it is plausible for a smartwatch to have these features. They are more like the features fit for a fitness band but a large touch screen can turn it into a smartwatch. Realme's first-generation smartwatch was just a glorified fitness band, which makes me wonder if the new smartwatches from Realme will be actual smartwatches that work like them. Of course, they are not going to have Wear OS and in the absence of that software, there will not be additional things that you can do on these smartwatches. And that purely defeats the purpose of being successors. I am not sure what exactly Realme is planning for these smartwatches.

Price-wise, the Realme Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro are not going to stray too far from Realme Watch cost. That will make the Watch 2 Pro another affordable offering from Realme, one that will arrive for the purpose of refreshing the line-up more than luring customers into buying them for additional features.
