Telangana reports 177 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities until Wednesday night

Hyderabad, Feb 4 (UNI) The total number of coronavirus cases in Telangana has risen to 2,95,101 till date with the state registering 177 fresh COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Wednesday.



The cumulative toll mounted to 1,606 after two patients died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1,4 per cent,according to a state health department bulletin on Thursday.



After 198 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide between Tuesday and Wednesday, the overall recoveries in the state as of date reached 2,91,510 constituting a recovery rate of 98.78 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.1 per cent.



The state presently has 1,985 active cases including 776 individuals in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.



In a span of 24 hours,41,343 samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious

virus out of which the results of 1,323 swab samples are pending.



Cumulatively,more than 79.96 lakhs COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.



The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation,as usual,contributed a maximum number of 30 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts which reported 11 infections each.



The remaining coronavirus cases of the day were reported by other districts,the bulletin added.
