Ruckus at Red Fort: Rs 1 lakh cash prize for inputs on Deep Sidhu

NEW DELHI:  The Delhi Police on Wednesday announced a cash prize of Rs 1lakh each for anyone who will provide information that may lead to the arrest of actor Deep Sidhu, his associates Gurjant Singh, Gurjot Singh and Jugraj Singh in connection with the violence during the farmers’ tractor rally on the Republic Day.  Deep Sidhu and the other three are the main accused/conspirators in the Red Fort violence on January 26, said police officials. 

The district police and the Delhi Police Special Cell have also slapped UAPA and sedition charges on those involved in the Red Fort violence. The names include gangster-turned-activist Lakha Sidhana. 
The police are also conducting multiple raids in Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand to identify the accused persons involved in the violence. 

Besides, the Delhi Police have also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 each on information leading to other protestors like Boota Singh, Sukhbir Singh, Jagbir Singh and Iqbal Singh in connection with the hoisting of religious flag at Red Fort. Many of the protesters, driving tractors, reached the Red Fort and entered the monument. Some protesters hoisted religious flags on its domes and a flagstaff at the ramparts, where the national flag is unfurled by the prime minister on Independence Day.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Mahasangh, a group of retired police officers and personnel, also announced a reward of  Rs 5 lakh for information on Deep Sidhu. “The truth must come out and the conspirator behind the violent riot on Republic Day should be arrested soon. Deep Sidhu is hiding somewhere and is releasing videos claiming that the BJP is behind this and he would expose the farmer union leaders. So, we have announced Rs 5lakh for his arrest or any information on him.

He should be arrested and the truth must be revealed,” said Ved Bhushan, former- ACP, Delhi Police. 
 In the clashes on January 26, around 510 police personnel were injured and some are still in hospital. 
A total of 44 First Information Reports (FIR) have been registered and 115 people arrested so far, said police officials.
