New Delhi, Feb 4 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party law maker Sanjay Singh on Thursday took a dig at the Centre saying that this government did not have Rs 2 to call up farmers.
"This government does not have Rs 2 to call farmers? If you do not have two rupees, take it from us and call the farmers. At least 165 farmers have died. In Ghazipur you will meet a 97-year-old farmer whose has sent both his sons to the Indian Army and he is pained at being called a terrorist. What is your enmity with them?" Mr Singh asked.
Speaking on the ‘Motion of Thanks’ in the Rajya Sabha, he said that for the past 76 days, farmers have been protesting, and are being called terrorists and Khalistanis. One BJP MLA had said that they were not farmers but terrorists and should be shot, and if Delhi Police cannot do it then he would attack them with shoes.
He said so far 11 rounds of talk have failed.
Lashing out at the Centre, he said, “You will have to repeal the laws, you have crossed all limits. On the road, 12 inches nails have been studded as though enemy forces are coming. This happens when the ruler is scared or he considers people as enemy', he said further.
Referring to the numerous FIRs lodged against journalists and farmers, the AAP lawmaker said that they talk of democracy and create situation so that they can register case against journalists. 'You have registered an FIR against everyone, including those who provide water or food. The NIA, ED... every agency is set after them”, he charged.
"The government's problem is not that farmers did not understand the Bills, their problem is that farmers have understood the Bills," he commented.
"All BJP MPs mentioned that Congress has supported this Bill in their manifesto, but they forgot that when this Bill was brought by Congress, then Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj had opposed it. The Congress had only thought of the Bills and they have reached 55 seats, you have passed it, so wait and see, you will reach five seats," he said while flaying the Government.
Accusing the Government of favouring some businessman Mr Sanjay Singh said, "Adani's application to change land use of 100 acres was pending with Haryana Government and was cleared in May-June during the lockdown adopting the route of ‘Ordinance’.
These laws are to help corporate houses and the ruling party has been making laws for them from whom they receive donations, he added.
Referring the incident of violence on January 26, he said that the tractor rallies were passed through seven routes peacefully and returned to their protesting points and those who stormed Red Fort and disrespected the flag belong to the BJP.
'Deep Sidhu was a BJP man. They can stoop to any level for their politics. They said they would give MSP to farmers, let me mention Uttar Pradesh... an FIR was registered against 10 officials in U.P for ghost procurement has been made in name of farmers.
“You are helping corporates by giving them permission to store grains beyond any limit and when there is a shortage it will be sold at high price. They will sell river, sky, if you keep sleeping then these fake nationalists will sell the nation," Mr Singh concluded.
