In Utah, more people have now received at least one doses of vaccine for COVID-19 than have contracted it

The number of Utahs who have received at least one vaccination for COVID-19 now exceeds the total number of people who have contracted the disease.
According to the Utah Department of Health, almost 363,000 people have been vaccinated. That’s about 11,400 more than the number of coronavirus cases reported in the state.
As of Thursday, 84,154 Utahns were fully vaccinated, having received both doses of the vaccine.
Utah’s death coronavirus-related death count exceeded 1,700, with 14 more fatalities reported. (Three of those deaths occurred before Jan. 14 and were only recently confirmed to be as the result of COVID-19.)
Vaccinations reported in past day/total vaccinations • 17,522 / 362,701.
Cases reported in past day • 1,273.
Deaths reported in past day • 14.

Hospitalizations reported in past day • 365. That’s up 13 from Wednesday.
Tests reported in past day • 9,419.
Percentage of positive tests • 13.5%. This is lower than the seven-day average of 16.5%.
Totals to date • 351,273 cases; 1,711 deaths; 13,697 hospitalizations; 2,054,230 tests.
