Indian Railways to complete 56 major existing projects in February-March 21 & financial year 2021-22; see list

Indian Railways to complete several projects in the financial year 2021-22! In a bid to boost rail infrastructure as well as to make Indian Railways future-ready, the Railway Ministry has identified a total of 56 projects all across the country in various railway zones to be completed by February-March 2021 and the financial year 2021-22.

This year, the national transporter received the highest ever total plan capex of Rs 2,15,058 crore out of which capital expenditure of Rs 1,07,100 crore has been allocated in the Union Budget. In a paradigm shift, this time onwards, Indian Railways has focused on the completion of existing rail projects quickly other than simultaneously working on the newly announced projects. Here is the list of 56 projects to be completed in February-March, fiscal 2021-22:

1) 32 km Hansdiha-Godda New Line in Feb-21
2) 29 km Omalur-Metturdam Patch Doubling in Feb-21
3) 2 km Netravati-Mangalore in Feb-21
4) 22 km Nirmali – Saraigarh New line including Kosi Bridge in Mar-21
5) 170 km Ahmedabad-Botad in Mar-21
6) 83 km Pilibhit-Shahjahanpur Gauge Conversion in Mar-21
7) 66 km Utretia – Raebarelli in Mar-21
8) 40 km Ghazipur-Aunihar in Mar-21
9) 24 km Bhusawal-Jalgaon 3rd line in Mar-21
10) 38 km Ambari-Falkata doubling in Mar-21
11) 18 km Ambalapuzha-Haripad in Mar-21
12) 30 km Tambram-Chengalpattu Gauge Conversion in Mar-21
13) 47 km Ajmer-Bangurgram Doubling in Mar-21
