  • The owners of Evermore Park in Pleasant Grove, Utah, are seeking millions of dollars in damages, alleging that Taylor is guilty of trademark infringement after the singer names her ninth album, evermore.
  • The lawsuit claims Taylor confused park visitors, negatively affecting their search engine results and merchandise.

A Utah theme park is reportedly taking legal action against singer Taylor Swift for the title of her evermore album.

According to Sky News, the owners of Evermore Park in Pleasant Grove, Utah, are seeking millions of dollars in damages, alleging that Taylor is guilty of trademark infringement.

In the lawsuit filed against the star, the owners claim they had spent millions on the park since establishing it in 2018, the publication reports.

The suit also claims that Taylor confused park visitors, negatively affecting their search engine results and merchandise, writes The Guardian

In response, Taylor's legal team has called the lawsuit "baseless...frivolous and irresponsible", adding: "It is inconceivable that there is any likelihood of confusion between your client's theme park and related products and Ms Swift's music and related products."

In a statement shared with Pitchfork, a spokesperson for Taylor Swift seemingly points out ulterior motives behind the Evermore Park owner's lawsuit, quoting an article which claims the company has come under fire before and owes money to various parties.

"The true intent of this lawsuit should be obvious," the statement ends.

Taylor released evermore in December 2020 as a follow-up to her folklore album.
