Armie Hammer Source Responds to Cannibal Accusations & Leaked DMs

Armie Hammer‘s career has been put in the spotlight in a new Variety article that examines all of the allegations made against him in the past month and if he will be able to recover from the fallout.

The article notes that the 34-year-old actor “began trending online for being a cannibal,” but that he “is not a cannibal.” Earlier this week, Instagram DMs that Armie allegedly sent to a woman just one day after the original leak of messages were released online.

Armie‘s estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers released her first official statement about the controversy just three days ago.

A source close to the actor responded to the allegations made against Armie.

“He has never eaten human flesh, he has never drank blood, he has never cut off a toe, he has never locked anybody in a cage, or whatever else is in these crazy messages. These messages definitely shouldn’t be taken literally – even if he did text them,” the source, who chose to remain anonymous, told Variety.

The source added, “Anyone can say what they want and solicit craziness on Instagram or TikTok or Clubhouse. People think that kinky sex is weird and taboo, and maybe it is to most people, but clearly there are adults who engage in it and enjoy it.”

The Variety article also discussed the future of Armie‘s career and whether he will recover from the allegations.

The outlet says that Armie‘s agents at WME are “not considering dropping him” as a client. The article also said, “Those who work closely with Hammer believe the actor will survive this scandal, though no one is blind to the negative attention, to say the least.”

“This is not the end of Armie Hammer,” a person in the actor’s circle told the outlet.
