LUCKNOW: After announcing paperless Cabinet meetings, chief minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Wednesday that the state Budget too would go digital, taking cue from Union finance minister’s move to ditch the ‘bahi khata’ for a desi tablet.
Assembly sessions will also go paperless and to enable a swift rollout of the procedure, the chief minister announced training sessions for legislators from February 11 to 13 by officials of National Informatics Centre.
On Tuesday, the government conducted a training workshop for ministers and senior officials for seamless transition to the e-cabinet system with an emphasis on security protocols.
Ministers were advised to undertake training at home to achieve hands-on comfort with the new system.
‘Tablets for MLAs & MLCs before next assembly session’
Following the mantra of ‘Minimum Government and Maximum Governance’, the CM decided to implement paperless cabinet meetings, paperless Budget presentation and paperless proceedings of the legislature. He has already set rolling a digital policy to push governance in the country’s most populous state from direct beneficiary transfer to accounts and use of e-POS machines,” said a government spokesperson.
To ensure implementation of the new policy, the chief minister said, MLAs and MLCs would be provided with tablets before the next Assembly session to enable members to work online and curb use of paper.
