Fresh avalanche warning for higher reaches in J&K

Srinagar, Feb 4 (UNI) A fresh avalanche warning has been issued for higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours.

Director Disaster Management J&K Aamir Ali said Thursday evening that there is threat of medium level avalanche warning in upper reaches of Poonch, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts of Jammu region during the next 24 hours.

He said low level avalanche warning has also been issued for upper reaches of Rajouri in Jammu and Baramulla in north Kashmir.

He said people are advised to avoid venturing out unnecessary in avalanche prone areas. However, in case of any emergency extra care should be taken, he said.
