For those of us who received one or two rounds of COVID-19 stimulus checks (and possibly a third on the way), if you are financially secure, please consider donating those funds. According to utahfoodbank.org, a $1.00 cash donation to them becomes $8.03 in food for Utahns facing hunger. Food banks work with manufacturers, retailers and farmers to secure healthy food at discounted prices.
Other options include homeless shelters. Volunteers of America (www.voaut.org) has many programs, one of which is a Youth Resource Center, providing meals, emergency shelter, case management and support for homeless and at-risk teens and young adults ages 15-22.
Each of you can surely identify other worthwhile options.
