China smartphone market flat in Q4, 5G drives two-thirds of sales

Around 86.4 million smartphones were shipped in China in the fourth quarter of 2020. Smartphone shipments were flat year-on-year, as almost all of the top five vendors recorded a favorable growth, with the exception being Huawei, according to a report from IDC. The market still saw an 11.2 percent decline year-on-year with 325.7 million shipments in the twelve months of 2020.
