Frontline workers to get inoculated at 11 session sites in Gurgaon on February 4

Gurgaon: The health department has decided to set up 11 session sites where around 30,000 frontline workers will be vaccinated on February 4. One camp each will be set up at MCG’s zonal offices and one camp will be held at MCG head office. Similarly, four session sites will be organised at police stations and one at the police commissioner’s office among others.
A virtual dry run was organised by the health department on Tuesday to check the glitches in the Co-WIN app. “We added 10 names to the app and also added a few names in the absentees category to observe the functioning of the app as we are gearing up to vaccinate frontline workers,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon.
A vaccine van will be sent to Kurukshetra on Wednesday for bring additional vaccines. “We will resume the vaccination drive from Wednesday. We will be targeting 600 recipients on Wednesday at 20 sites and we will have 28 sites for health workers on Thursday,” he added.
29 new cases in city
On Tuesday, 29 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the city, taking the case load to 58,266. The health department said 12 patients recovered on the day, bringing the total number of recoveries to 57,523. No one succumbed to the infection on Tuesday. So far, 354 people in the city have died of Covid, of whom 273 had comorbidities.
The city has a total of 389 active cases, of whom 352 are in home isolation. The recovery rate stands at 98% while the positivity rate is 0.6%.
In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 3,140 samples for antigen and RT-PCR tests. Till now, 7,50,480 samples have been sent for testing, of which 6,89,074 returned negative while the results of 2,533 are awaited.
Meanwhile, a polio drive was conducted on Tuesday where 3,51,248 children between the age group of 0-5 years were given polio drops.
