Before 5th vax round, many health staff say name still not on list

Noida: The district health department on Thursday will conduct the fifth round of inoculations for the first phase of vaccination drive. Meanwhile, many healthcare workers across government and private hospitals have claimed that their names are still not listed as beneficiaries on the Co-WIN portal.
“We will have 30 centres and 60 session sites for the vaccination drive on February 4. Nearly 6,000 HCWs will be vaccinated on that day. Following which, we will draw a list for February 5 where the remaining registered HCWs will be vaccinated along with 10% of frontline workers. These include staff from the police, revenue, civic departments.
Their registrations are under way. Till Tuesday afternoon, around 18,200 staffers were registered on the Co-WIN portal,” said Dr Neeraj Tyagi, district immunisation officer (DIO), in charge of vaccination process in GB Nagar.
Meanwhile, from the 24,453 HCWs listed for the vaccination, over 1,500 HCWs do not find their names in the list of registered beneficiaries on the Co-WIN portal. “Nearly half of our staff — about 600 — are not listed on the beneficiary list,” said Dr Kanika Kanwar, medical director (MS), Metro Hospitals and Heart Institute, Noida.
Brigadier (retd) Dr RK Gupta, director, Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), said that around 40 HCWs from the institute had not found their names on the list till late Tuesday afternoon. Dr Sunil Kumar, medical superintendent at Yatharth Hospital, claimed that many of their HCWs have been left out.
Dr Ajit Kumar, the spokesperson of Sharda hospital, also said that over 700 beneficiaries from the hospital did not find their names in the final list for February 4 and 5. “Names of the members of our ICU team, including in-charge Dr Abhishek Deshwal, are missing. This is the core team that carried out crucial 24x7 duty during the peak period last year in the only L3 Covid hospital of the district,” said Dr Kumar.
Dr Akash Raj, medical superintendent at Child PGI, apprised that names of over 100 HCWs are not listed in the Co-WIN portal.
While vaccination for the first phase of HCWs will end on February 5, Dr Tyagi added that a list of such HCWs will be sent to the state government, which will then forward it to the Centre for updation. “Once the names get registered on the portal, a date may be issued by the government for inoculation,” said Dr Tyagi.
