Princess Diana's trainer is speaking out about her battle with bulimia.
Diana got candid about the eating disorder and struggle with her mental health in her infamous Panorama interview.
"I didn't like myself, I was ashamed because I couldn't cope with the pressures," she told Martin Bashir.
Now, speaking to The Daily Mail, Jenni Rivett who began working with the princess in 1991 doing step aerobics, power walking and even rollerblading, says she encouraged Diana to eat healthy and believes the workouts helped manage her bulimia.
"She bravely told me — and the world — about her bulimia," Jenni says. "[It] was truly honourable, as it helped so many young women understand [the impact of] eating disorders."
She continued: "Exercise is such an incredible release for anxiety and other low feelings. I believe as her body became fit, strong and healthy, she felt empowered and ready to face those bad times head-on."
Jenni and Diana trained in the gardens at Kensington Palace – and were often interrupted by Prince William and Prince Harry.
"[Her boys] were her whole world and would often join in on our training sessions at Kensington Palace – annoying her occasionally,' Jenni says, laughing.
