MUMBAI: Sucheeta Trivedi is a well-known actress who has carved a path for herself in the acting world. Having been in the TV industry for over 20 years, the actress has experienced the highs and lows of the profession. But a show going off air will always be a bittersweet moment for her.

Her show Indiawaali Maa which was launched in August 2020 will be going off air soon. She told Times Of India, “I’m going to miss my onscreen husband (Nitish Pandey), my onscreen beta (Akshay Mhatre), all the gorgeous sarees that I have worn so far, and all the dogs on the sets.”

With the onset of the pandemic, subsequent lockdown, and unlock phases many shows either went off air soon after its launch or were shelved completely. Quizzed if she was prepared for it all, “Generally in life, every good thing has to come to end similarly when a show begins it also has to come to end. As an actor, I was certainly prepared for this but it hits you hard when you are playing the central character. Being the central character it was a content-driven and author-backed role, so the onus and the pressure of a show doing well or not is always there. However, other factors like script, storyline, production values, ratings, and many other external factors also add up. Bringing out a show while dealing with COVID-19 came with a lot of challenges and limitations in terms of locations and other aspects as well.”

Shooting amid the pandemic while taking all care is a tough task, but for Sucheeta, her husband Nigam streamlined it all. “In all honesty, I was about to give up the show as I didn’t want to put my elderly in-laws and parents at risk. But my husband pushed me to take up the show and ensured that my entry and exit in the house will be managed without putting anyone at risk. The first four months I was living in a semi-quarantine state, as my food makeup and everything else was kept separately and post-shoot I wouldn’t meet anyone.”
