Some people trying to destabilise India for personal gains, says MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on foreign elements attempting to meddle into the ongoing farmers' agitation.
Chouhan without naming Hollywood singer Rihanna and the opposition Congress leaders said that some people were trying to destabilise the country for the sake of personal interest.
"In the name of farmers' agitation, some people are trying to destabilise the country for the sake of personal interest," tweeted Chouhan without mentioning any name.
"Witness to history, whenever we gave an opportunity to outsiders to intervene in our internal affairs, we had to suffer heavy damage, "he further cautioned.
The chief minister assured that the country is in strong and efficient hands. "Every countryman is familiar with the experience of giving such an opportunity to the British, the Mughals and taking the matter of Kashmir to the international stage. The country is now in efficient and strong hands. The anti-national forces will be given a befitting reply," read the second tweet.
Chouhan's remark came in the wake of a social media post by famous Hollywood singer Rihanna, who backed the farmers' agitation by tweeting "Why are we not talking about this." The tweet by Rihanna triggered a political controversy and attention all over the country and the Congress also jumped in support of her. The BJP though, slammed the singer.
Chouhan also retweeted the statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday which said, "Temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible."
The MEA statement comes after international pop star Rihanna, climate activist Greta Thunberg, Lilly Singh, American Vice President Kamala Harris' niece Meena Harris and others meddled in the farmers' issue. The ministry has also used hashtags - #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.
