24-year-old Salem man tops CA exam

Salem: A city-based youth has secured first rank in all-India level in the chartered accountant (CA) final examination held in November 2020.
A Essakiraj, 24, secured the first rank in the all-India level in the CA final examination by scoring 553 out of 800 marks in his first attempt.
Speaking to TOI, Essakiraj said, “I was expecting good marks but not first rank in the national level.”
Essakiraj was also a class topper in classes 10 and 12. “I had scored 474 out of 500 in Class 10 and 1171 out of 1200 in Class 12 board examination,” he said.
“I used to study for nearly 12 hours a day,” he said.
Essakiraj’s father M Arumugam is working in a private company and his mother A Gomathi is a homemaker.
“My father motivated me to study CA when I was studying Class 10. Based on his guidance, I worked hard to clear CA examination,” he said.
