New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the second time on Tuesday amid sloganeering by Opposition Members demanding complete repeal of the three contentious farm laws.
Soon after the House reassembled at 1700 hrs after the first adjournment, it witnessed heavy sloganeering from the Opposition members over the issue.
Opposition members entered the Well raising slogans against the new farm laws.
Congress floor leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised the issue of the ongoing farmers'
protest.
Amid heavy sloganeering by the Opposition, the Papers were laid on the table.
In the din, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar made a brief intervention and said the Government is ready to discuss the issues of the farmers both inside the House and outside the House.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tried to pacify the agitated Members and asked them to return to their seats.
He also assured the Opposition members that they will also be given the adequate time to raise their concerns.
However, the sloganeering continued forcing Mr Birla to adjourn the House till 1900 hrs.
Earlier, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha was adjourned for one hour till 1700 hrs amid Opposition uproar over the same issue.
When the House assembled at 1600 hrs, Opposition members from the Congress, AITC and the Left parties entered the Well of the House and raised slogans demanding repeal of the laws.
As soon as the Question Hour started, there were heavy sloganeering from the Opposition benches over the issue.
Pacifying the agitated Members, the Speaker asked them to resume their seat and said in today's Question Hour, questions related to agriculture welfare have been listed.
However, when the sloganeering did not stop, Mr Birla adjourned the House till 1700 hrs.
