The actor’s home showcases a fun mix of traditional Indian decor elements in a neutral palette. Take the tour through her residence below
Over the past decade, Shriya Saran has carved a niche for herself in the Indian film industry with Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi language films, not just as an actor, but also as a notable dancer. The star has delivered critically acclaimed performances in films like Manam (2014) and Drishyam (2015) which have contributed to earning her a diverse fan base across the country, and overseas. With upcoming projects like RRR alongside Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, and Ajay Devgn, and Gamanam, Saran has quite a busy year lined up, especially considering her commute from Spain to India.
In case you missed it, the actor has been living with husband Andrei Koscheev in Barcelona for the past year, where the couple were self-isolating due to COVID-19. Adhering to social distancing guidelines like most of us, Saran was able to spend lots of quality time with her husband in their charming apartment. Through her social media account, she made sure to share snippets of her daily at-home adventures from Barcelona, which included goofy pranks played on her partner, cooking experiments, and date nights on her balcony. Featuring a quintessential European-style balcony that overlooks the bustling streets of the city full of colourful buildings, Saran’s apartment in Spain makes the perfect home away from her Indian home. From the actor’s cosy living room to her lively kitchen, take the full tour of her Barcelona residence below.
Wooden floors and creamy white walls characterise Shriya Saran's living room in Barcelona. A comfy off-white couch takes residence on one side of this space, right in front of a wooden coffee table, which is often pushed aside to make a workout space for the star's yoga sessions. Embroidered throw pillows and patterned cushions in vibrant hues liven up the area, standing out against the otherwise muted palette of the room. In the corner, you can also spot two armchairs upholstered in dark leather, and a charcoal grey lazy couch. A side table features close to the sofa, housing knick-knacks, next to an ivory lamp.
The actor's living area leads to a smaller space, which seems to serve as a dressing room for the actor with its white closets, wooden vanity table, and a little seating area which opens up to a balcony. Flooded with natural light, the living room is one of Saran’s favourite spots to hang out in.
Glossy white cabinets (dotted with colourful postcards) and countertops gleam against the bold peach-tiled walls and beige accents in Saran’s kitchen. A pair of traditional Rajasthani Kathputli puppets in bright pink sit perched on the actor's refrigerator, adding a playful element to the space. The kitchen space also includes a casual dining area with a wooden table and dark chairs, and mosaic-tiled floors add a classic Mediterranean vibe to the decor. You can also see a wall dedicated to framed photos next to the refrigerator that brightens up the area further.
The actor’s formal dining room features the same neutral canvas as the rest of her home, with pops of colour here and there. Chairs upholstered in off-white complement Saran's minimalistic table, often topped off with a multicoloured cover. Modern light fixtures above the dining table and pristine white in-built shelves lend an air of elegance to the space. Not too far away sits Saran's large collection of potted plants, accompanied by souvenirs from past travels, all of which sit on a textured baroque-style marble console.
The interiors of Shriya Saran's home clearly show her penchant for bright colours and traditional artwork. One of the most interesting corners of her residence includes a little wooden console topped off with a Buddha bust and what seems like a collection of photo frames and incense sticks. An illustration of lotus flowers hangs above the console, and a vase full of fresh blooms often adorns this area. An ivory dream catcher—one of the many quirky details in the apartment—hangs over the door frame.
If you follow Saran, you already know that her Instagram feed is peppered with photos and videos of her and husband Andrei Koscheev lounging in their balcony. Featuring an ornate wrought-iron banister and wooden patio furniture, the balcony is the actor’s go-to place for breezy afternoons. Pistachio green doors lead to the open space, which offers quaint views of the tree-lined street below and the beautiful Spanish architecture of surrounding buildings.
With its combination of subtle palettes and playful interiors, Shriya Saran's Barcelona home seems to be an extension of the actor’s lively persona. Keep scrolling for more insights from the apartment.
