Tamil Nadu govt employees stage protest

CHENNAI: Thousands of Tami Nadu government employees staged a protest in Chennai and other parts of the state on Tuesday.
They have put forth a charter of demands including restoration of old pension scheme, rectification of wage anomalies and release of salary arrears in line with seventh pay commission.
Other demands include filling of 4.5 lakh job vacancies in state departments and restoration of dearness allowance.
Around 200 members from Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA), who protested on the Ezhilagam campus in Chennai, were detained and lodged in a nearby marriage hall.
