Bus accident claims 14 lives in Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 2 (UNI) At least 14 people were killed and 11 others were seriously injured on Tuesday when a speeding bus overturned on the Quetta-Karachi highway in southern Pakistan.

The accident took place in the town of Uthal in the Sindh province when the driver lost control of the bus on account of speeding, though authorities are still investigating, Khaleej times quoted the local police official Sharif Ahmed as saying.

Rescuers said the bus, which was travelling from southwestern Baluchistan province to the southern port city of Karachi, was badly damaged. The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital where several of them are said to be in critical condition.
